If I’m looking at this correctly…

  • Your domain expired at the previous registrar
  • You renewed it with them…
  • Then you immediately transferred it over to Cloudflare.

If this is correct, then you’ve effectively paid for the domain twice, as described here: https://developers.cloudflare.com/registrar/faq/#my-domains-registration-was-not-extended-by-one-year-after-transferring-to-cloudflare

You should have waited 45 days before initiating the transfer

Note that it’s the Registry (not the Registrar) that controls this, and the same thing would happen if you had transferred the domain to any other registrar. And in this situation, ICANN rules say that the losing/old registrar is the one to issue a refund… and not the gaining/new registrar.

Of course, you should wait to hear the official word from Cloudflare Registrar support.
