Transfering domain to Cloudflare

I have a domain that has two (may be adding a couple more) subdomains and would like to transfer the domain to cloudflare. The domain is on google domains

Questions:
At the free account level, can I have subdomains (each subdomain is on different VPS, so different IPs)

If I transfer the domain over, will the subdomains automatically be transferred as well, or would I need to set them up.

I do currently have one domain DNS managed on cloudflare at the free account level ( an unrelated domain that is currently registered at Domaindo

I would like to use a “Lets Encrypt” SSL cert on all domains/sub domains.

Is all the above possible while staying on the free level.

The free level has all of that. You’ll just need to do some preparation:

  1. Make sure you know all the DNS records (A, MX, TXT, CNAME, etc) you’ll need over here. Cloudflare will try to scan them, but it may miss a few, including subdomains.
  2. Make sure everything is currently working with HTTPS before you begin the process. Then Cloudflare can continue to serve your site with HTTPS using whatever cert Cloudflare assigns to your domain (It may be Let’s Encrypt or Digicert…they’re both very good).

When you are adding a new site, we will scan for existing records, however this is not an exact science since we have the same visibility of your records as your visitors, and in many cases it will expectedly not work, so it’s your responsibility to ensure they are correct and work after onboarding.

If your current DNS provider allows you to export a BIND file of your DNS records, you may wish to have it on hand since our system does have an option to import that file, but also for backup in case the records aren’t imported correctly.

Free plans don’t have the ability to choose their CA, but it would either be Let’s Encrypt or Digicert.
