I’m trying to transfer a domain from Ionos (way overpriced! Terrible service) to Cloudlflare, but every time I try I get the error “Something went wrong. An error occurred while processing the payment hold”. I know the domain is all setup right…I’ve unlocked and have the code. I know my credit cards are good, I have 2 so that I have a backup. Still not working. What else could it be? I emailed Cloudflare, but I guess they don’t reply unless you’re paying (stupid, since I’m a new customer and transferring domain to them…you’d think they’d want to respond to that since it generates income!)
@cloonan By the way, when I try to register a NEW domain I also get unsuccessful. So, SOMETHING is going on at Cloudflare. My credit card is fine, I used it today here locally. I’ve also used it on Amazon today. So, there is something going on at the Cloudflare end. I hope we can get this fixed soon, as this is holding up a lot of things I’m trying to do and my time to do them is limited. Appreciate your assistance.
@cloonan Ok, sooo…I just retried that new domain registration with PayPal and it worked, after fiddling around and trying a couple times. Finally it succeeded. I made one very minor tweak to my address and that seemed to possibly do it on PayPal. So, I went back to Transfer domain, made the same edit and it worked. Well, kind of. It ended up charging me through PayPal again, verses direct through my credit card. I guess this is OK, but I still don’t understand why it doesn’t work with my credit card (which is the SAME card I used in PayPal!). It would still be nice to have that resolved.
I will make a note of the duplicate charge on the escalated topic for my colleagues. They are really good at proactively reversing/ correcting duplicate charges, but I want to ensure they are aware of it asap. Thank you.
@cloonan Actually, there was only one charge…my message may not have been clear, sorry. I bought a new domain and I transferred…so it was 2 charges and that’s correct.
