We have a few sites in our Cloudflare dashboard that we manage for a client. We are going to be transferring ownership of these sites to a new development team soon - what is the easiest way to transfer Cloudflare sites between Cloudflare accounts?
Each Cloudflare site we are looking to migrate has a full DNS setup (Cloudflare is the primary DNS provider) and only a few Cloudflare workers.
First, if the domain names are registered with Cloudflare Registrar, you will need to transfer those domains out to another registrar.
Then, to move the domain between accounts, add the domain to the new account as you did before. Follow this guide and ensure everything is set up the same (DNS, any redirects, settings, Workers, etc) so that there’s no downtime when switching over. In particular, disable DNSSEC if it is enabled at your registrar at least 24 hours before.
When all is ready, change the 2 Cloudflare nameservers at the registrar to those for the new account. After 24 hours the nameserver change should have fully propagated and you can delete the zone from the old account when you see the traffic fall to zero.
To clarify, for changing the 2 Cloudflare nameservers at the registrar - that refers to changing the nameserver at site we purchased our domain from, yeah? For example, we have our domains at DNSSimple - we would update the nameservers there, correct?
