Traffic even though domain is serving nothing?

My domain has no DNS records, and so is serving nothing. Why do I see 1000+ requests to the domain over the last month? Just bots? Is there anything I need to do to prevent this or is this normal behavior?

I’m quite inexperienced so I apologize for the newb question.

Yes. There’s nothing to do, as bots are constantly making requests to every hostname imaginable.
