Description
Create a tool that allows you to enter a URL and Cloudflare will try to connect from a wide range of their IP blocks to help see if any are being blocked or rate limited.
Benefit
When trying to diagnose 522 connection errors (Community Tip - Fixing Error 522: Connection timed out Troubleshooting Cloudflare 5XX errors | Cloudflare Support docs) I may not have access to the infrastructure where rate limiting or firewalls are configured. It is also difficult to replicate these issues as different people will get routed through different Cloudflare data centers. Therefore it is often a blame game where a host, client, and end user might all get different results for the same request if the host hasn’t properly configured for all IP ranges IP Ranges.
Having a tool that allows you to enter a URL and check the connection from various Cloudflare IP blocks to the origin might help reduce the frustration of “it works for me” responses from hosts. It would be especially great if I could link to the results and show them that they are likely blocking some Cloudflare IPs.
If there is an existing tool (Free, Pro) that accomplishes most of this, I haven’t found it.
