I use Thunderbird as an email client. It points to mail vsoflavors com My site was in a redirect loop, so I set the SSL to strict and after that, my email was not connecting. I have attached an image of my DNS. Any help would be appreciated.
mail.vsoflavors.com
is set to “DNS only”, which it should be as that’s your email service that Cloudflare can’t proxy (points to Godaddy). But as it isn’t proxied, Cloudflare SSL settings will not affect that in any way. You need to look elsewhere for the source of your problem.
That said, setting SSL to Full (strict) is the right thing to do for your web service.
You may also want to confirm that your Thunderbird account is configured to use the mail
hostname and not one of the proxied names, such as the apex.
I just changed over to cloudflare last night. Somewhere during the process it seems that Godaddy changed the hostname on all of my emails to a generic shared server hostname. Putting that in place in Thunderbird fixed it. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
