This site can’t be reached

The webpage at https://www.thegrandviewhotelkaps.com/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

I have a problem with my site which I connected a domain bought from google workspace. I do not know if I might have interfered with the DNS records or why I get the error. I have attached the screenshots with my DNS records. I have followed community guidelines on a related topic but I’m lost because I do not really understand all the terms used. My domain is www.thegrandviewhotelkaps.com.

The record that contains 192.0.2.1 should be “Proxied” instead of “DNS only” as likely you have a redirect from your domain to www and that won’t work unless that record is proxied.

Check the redirect is in place by looking here…
https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/rules/redirect-rules
https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/rules/rules

There isn’t a DNS record for www though so you need to create one. If your site is on Google, it’s likely that needs to be a CNAME to ghs.googlehosted.com (that one should be “DNS only”).

I do not have redirect rules but page redirect is set up this way

thegrandviewhotelkaps.com/*
Forwarding URL (Status Code: 301 - Permanent Redirect, Url: https://www.thegrandviewhotelkaps.com/)

I have changed the DNS and the error is as in the screenshot

This is the new DNS records

Everything now works on the Cloudflare side.

thegrandviewhotelkaps.com redirects to www.thegrandviewhotelkaps.com and www.thegrandviewhotelkaps.com goes to Google.

You’ll have to check if the ghs.googlehosted.com record is the correct thing to use with Google, and if so, make sure your domain is configured there correctly.

[add] Just check your SSL/TLS is set to “Full (strict)” here…

Thanks. I appreciate your help. I configured the settings and 24hrs have not elapsed. I wonder if that could be another reason?

SSL/TLS is set to full strict

I have tried to check with my google sites and everything. I have come across this error which has me confused as to whether it is thrown due to a problem on google’s side or cloudflare’s side

That error’s not relevant to your current problem, your site doesn’t load.

Make sure Google is configured to answer for www.thegrandviewhotelkaps.com as thegrandviewhotelkaps.com is being redirected to that by your Cloudflare setup.

Thanks. The site has come up on it’s own. I guess it may have needed some time to propagate the changes. Thanks so much for your patience
