"The REST API encountered an unexpected result" + "Your site could not complete a loopback request"

Hello!

I have the following error messages on my WordPress dashboard:

The REST API encountered an unexpected result
Your site could not complete a loopback request

I think this is related to Cloudflare.

On one of my websites, these errors were solved by adding the server’s IP address to Cloudflare’s whitelist. But on my other website, I don’t have that option on my cPanel. I would like to know how to do this in my Cloudflare account and also if there’s anything else that I can do to fix these errors.

You can check any request blocked or challenged by Cloudflare in the Firewall Events:

I would recommend checking that, and make sure to add either an IP Access Rules with the Allow action or a Firewall Rules with the Bypass action in case you encounter false positive:

I get this every once in a while, and I know it’s occasionally my fault when I tighten up the firewall. In those cases, it doesn’t take long to get that warning, but when I fix my mistake, it takes a while for that error message to go away.

In other words, yours may be temporary.
