The MX record is still not pointing to domain

Hi. I have my domain and mail at one . com. They gave me the right mx record which i types it yesterday. But there is still something wrong. I talked with the support at onecom today and they wrote: You may need to check with your name server provider and have it check it. When we check here the MX record is still not pointing to us: Network Tools: DNS,IP,Email

Please help me! I have been struggling with for 3 days now. And I really need my business mail to work.
Domain: ingeridlovra.com
mail: [email protected]

Best regards
Ingerid

Can you share a screenshot of the MX record configuration from the DNS dashboard of Cloudflare?

Are the two nameservers on that page:

jermaine.ns.cloudflare.com.
joyce.ns.cloudflare.com.

It does not seem that you configured your NS servers at your registrar (which does not seem to be CF).

Some basic commands to help you troubleshoot from a linux/unix/mac shell:

This will show you the name servers as they are seen by CF public resolver:

% dig @1.1.1.1 ingeridlovra.com ns

; <<>> DiG 9.10.6 <<>> @1.1.1.1 ingeridlovra.com ns
; (1 server found)
;; global options: +cmd
;; Got answer:
;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 50551
;; flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 2, AUTHORITY: 0, ADDITIONAL: 1

;; OPT PSEUDOSECTION:
; EDNS: version: 0, flags:; udp: 1232
;; QUESTION SECTION:
;ingeridlovra.com. IN	NS

;; ANSWER SECTION:
ingeridlovra.com.	86400	IN	NS	jermaine.ns.cloudflare.com.
ingeridlovra.com.	86400	IN	NS	joyce.ns.cloudflare.com.

;; Query time: 311 msec
;; SERVER: 1.1.1.1#53(1.1.1.1)
;; WHEN: Wed Dec 01 20:15:13 JST 2021
;; MSG SIZE rcvd: 102

This will show the MX records (same resolver):

% dig @1.1.1.1 ingeridlovra.com mx

; <<>> DiG 9.10.6 <<>> @1.1.1.1 ingeridlovra.com mx
; (1 server found)
;; global options: +cmd
;; Got answer:
;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 35940

;; SERVER: 1.1.1.1#53(1.1.1.1)
;; WHEN: Wed Dec 01 20:16:38 JST 2021
;; MSG SIZE rcvd: 108

As you can see, it is empty.

CF tels you that your nameservers are different from what you configured with your registrar. Or your screenshot is not correct/old.

Trying querying both nameservers for MX records (jerome & jermaine) also yields no MX records returned:

% dig @jermaine.ns.cloudflare.com ingeridlovra.com mx

; <<>> DiG 9.10.6 <<>> @jermaine.ns.cloudflare.com ingeridlovra.com mx
; (6 servers found)

Edit: Forgot to mention that the SOA record seems to agree with your current nameserver config at the registrar, jermaine.ns.cloudflare.com. and not what is in the screenshot.

So I added this MX record yesterday. And they said it could take 24 hours to go through the system?
I don´t understand half of what you posted, I´m sorry. This is all new to me. The only thing I need to get fixed is this MX record for e-mail to work. I can only send e-mails, but I can´t receieve.

From what I am seeing, your MX record is not configured in the CF. Your screenshot shows that you did. You should try to remove and re-add the record again. Do pay attention to any errors (red bar at the bottom) that may indicate failure to add the record.

Anybody can add any zone to a Cloudflare account. But the DNS records will only come from the account that is “active”. To make an account active you need to deploy the correct pair of “ninja” nameservers.

The screenshot you shared does not agree with what we can see in DNS.

Your screenshot shows Jerome and Meadow. The rest of the world is looking at Jermaine and Joyce. I suspect you created two different Cloudflare accounts, and are editing the records in the wrong one. Either use the correct Cloudflare account, or change the Nameservers with your Registrar to match the two nameservers you see on the DNS dashboard.

Yes. That might be the issue. Since I created this account after my doman was transferred to Kajabi. I didn´t know that my DNS was here. When one.com told me that I had to log in here to add that mx record I created an account. But I don´t know how to get inside the Kajabi is using.?

Problem solved! I just had to add inside Kajabi records. OMG! That easy!
