The meaning of "sliver" in CDN-CGI Trace output

Hi.

I noticed that sliver was added to /cdn-cgi/trace recently. I would like to know what it stands for?

Thanks for your time.

I heard it was a reference to the 1993 masterpiece, Sliver.

In all seriousness, I’m sure we’ll see a blog post about them at some point.

Since Walshy, James and Kian are all rudely refusing to share any details, I will be nice and help you out by saying that the sliver property does not tell the time of day.

I heard sharding and parallel processing of chunks is supposed to speed things up. So this new sliver thing must be good, right?
