What is the issue you’re encountering

Cannot connect to server name ts3.sqdgaming.net, but can still connect to public IP.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I’ve updated my Linux Teamspeak Server. I’ve logged into cloudflare but honestly I set this up years ago and forgot after following a tutorial (I believe all is in order). I checked my godaddy account to make sure it is active (Bought domain from godaddy and funneled through cloudflare).

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

Nameservers

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Not sure if there are steps to reproduce. I just cannot connected to my teamspeak server via name only IP.

I forgot to mention. This did not start until 2 days ago. I’m not sure if it is because I also just reinstalled my pihole on my network (I’ve had pihole for quite some time but this never happened). I just wanted to provide all information.

Also, if someone could teach me how to do this for like an hour on a call I would reimburse them. Much appreciated for any help.

Your DNS record for ts3.sqdgaming.net is proxied. You need to change it to DNS-Only, as the proxy does not support teamspeak.

Greetings,

I actually found a solution from an 8 year old video i found online. Basically i put “_ts3._udp.ts3” in the name section of my SRV record and it allowed it to be proxied and is now working perfectly. Pretty wild.

Here is the video. 8 Year Old Teamspeak Tutorial

No, you just changed the record to DNS-Only with extra steps. The SRV record causes Cloudflare to create a new DNS-Only record that you can’t see in the dashboard.

Well then. You were right and I was clearly wrong.
