Support for Australian *.au Domains

But isn’t the quoted “hopefully” the key here?

To me, “hopefully” does NOT equal a guarantee that it will happen, but is only signalling a hope that it will MAYBE happen, but also MABE NOT.

In other words, with chances that it could go in both directions.

In that case, I’m leaning towards that you have misunderstood “hopefully”.

As was also said in the post you were referring to, it is very onerous and often devastating to deal with ccTLD’s (e.g. .au, and others), if you compare it to the non-ccTLD’s such as e.g. “.com” and “.org” domains.

Different ccTLD’s do have different requirements, and some are apparently very easy, where others (e.g. .au) unfortunately appears very complicated, if you’re looking to get the registrar accreditation.

Definitely looks like “hopefully” was a bit hopeful, given we’re now into 2025! I realise the process is “onerous”, however there are many smaller registrars with fewer resources that have pulled it off. Given there are supposedly 3 million+ .com.au domains, this should yield a fantastic return on investment if you finish getting .com.au implemented.

2025 and still unsupported. These “coming soon” has been said for years now, and still is unsupported
