Suddenly no DNS records found after months with no changes made

I’ve had a domain setup with Cloudflare for a month or two and everything has been working fine. yesterday all of a sudden email stopped working. doing a lookup on mxtoolbox shows no dns records but on cloudlfare they as still exactly the same as they have been for months and everything had been working fine.
so the issue I see are:

  • Cant hit the website
  • all email is bouncing (gmail)
  • external DNS checking tools show no DNS records.

Checking the domain registra there is still years left before domain expiry, the nameservers are still pointed to the correct Cloudflare name servers so no change there. Cloudflare dashboard still shows all the correct dns records, A record pointing the to correct server ip, mx records are still the same as they have been for months pointing to gmail. Cloudflare dashboard has no indication that the nameservers are incorrect or changed since successful setup months ago.

Im at a loss as to what to do now

Hey,
Your domain has a status on it preventing DNS Resolution

~$ whois bajariaglobal.com
Domain Name: BAJARIAGLOBAL.COM

Domain Status: clientHold https://icann.org/epp#clientHold

"This status code tells your domain’s registry to not activate your domain in the DNS and as a consequence, it will not resolve. It is an uncommon status that is usually enacted during legal disputes, non-payment, or when your domain is subject to deletion.

Often, this status indicates an issue with your domain that needs resolution. If so, you should contact your registrar to resolve the issue. If your domain does not have any issues, but you need it to resolve, you must first contact your registrar and request that they remove this status code."

You’ll need to reach out to your registrar, who seems to be Melbourne IT, as for why that status code is on there.
