Subdomain added to DNS but error 1000 message shows when entering subdomain

What is the name of the domain?

What is the error number?

Error 1000

What is the error message?

Error 1000 Ray TD: 927027239029025 2025-03-28 21:22:40 UT DNS points to prohibited IP

What is the issue you’re encountering

Subdomain doesn’t seem to be working

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I checked the DNS records and Cloudflare help documents and adding the subdomain to an ‘A’ type record seems to be the correct choice but I’m not sure if I’m missing something. Is this just because my subdomain/pages are not created and connected yet? I just want to make sure I added everything correctly in the DNS in case I’m missing something?

FYI — in case this makes any difference, my name servers currently point to Cloudflare and not my web host provider.

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

DNS records

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

N/A

It sounds like the content, of the mentioned A record, is incorrect.

Can you share content, for the record, named “mama”?

Hey, thanks for helping.

So, here’s the information it requests on Cloudflare and what I added. I got the IPv4 number from the details on the provider side where the domain was added - the only details it had.

That 188.114.97.x IP address is a Cloudflare Proxy IP address, and thus not a correct IPv4 address to use there.

You will therefore need to contact your hosting provider, to get the correct IP address(es) from them, and then adjust accordingly.

Thank you so much! I contacted them and they gave me the correct one. I think the subdomain just auto populated the Cloudflare one as my nameservers point there instead of taking the one from my main domain.

So I can see the page now and not the error message, however I can’t see the log-in page at all which I could access initially. It’s now just showing the web sample page itself. Any ideas??
