What is the issue you’re encountering

noticed that stream api returns landscape thumbnails for some portrait videos (like 1080x1920). the video plays fine in portrait but the thumbnail comes back in landscape. this has been true for any videos i shoot so far with my iphone (mov). anyone looking into this?

Can you share a couple video IDs? (Private message would be fine if you don’t want to post them here.) And do these videos have watermarks?

yes, i can confirm that all the videos experiencing this issue have watermarks. i’ve tested with non-watermarked videos, and those generate thumbnails correctly. while I can provide two specific examples of videos showing this behavior, please note that the issue consistently occurs with every watermarked video i’ve recorded on my iphone and uploaded so far:

I have exactly the same issue with videos uploaded from iPhone using Watermarks, here are two videos with the issue:

I just tested to upload a FHD (1080x1920) portrait video:

  1. Once with watermark and it has the landscape issue
  2. Once without watermark and it doesn’t have the landscape issue
