SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:sslv3 alert handshake

Hello !

I’v got this alert from pingdom tools sometimes :

CRITICAL - Cannot make SSL connection
13431: error:14077410:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:sslv3 alert handshake failure:s23_clnt.c:602:
GET / HTTP/1.0

Theses alerts started yesterday. Someone can help me please ?

Domain? And what is your minimum SSL version on Cloudflare? If that is 1.3 try to lower it.
Minimum is on 1.0.

It might be best to contact that service provider and have them clarify why exactly they show that error.

On Cloudflare’s side everything seems to be okay. The domain resolves properly and - as you said - there is no issue with the minimum version being set too high.

That error would usually indicate some handshake issue, however that could easily be on their side as well. For example, make sure they really connect to the right IP address. Or do they properly support SNI?

For now, Pingdom should be the first point of contact.

Ok, thank you
