Hi, i used the Cpanel API for CF to add my x10host free domain to CF. I also added the TXT file to the dns via Cpanel.
However i am still not able to get https to work. It tells me that the cert is wrong and is for x10hosting and NOT for x10host.
my free domain is davesdev.x10host.com i can see the two dns records that the CF API created for my dns linking CF.
for the TXT dns record name i used Cloudflare-verify.davesdev.x10host.com and for the data i used just a bunch of random numbers.
it also comes back with:
An error occurred during a connection to davesdev.x10host.com. SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length. Error code: SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG
what am i doing wrong or not doing?
At the moment the zone is not pointing to Cloudflare, and the SSL certificate is still pending issuance.
Hi and thanks for the reply… so i understand about the ssl cert still pending, i know that takes a bit to do. However im not sure about the zone issue.
I thought using the Cpanel CF API for x10host and activating CF would auto point it as there are new records created. However now that you say its not pointing to CF im wondering if those CF records do anything at all. Here are those records created by the CF API in cPanel
So if those do nothing to point the zone then ill have to change the dns record for the domain to CF manually.
It is now pointing at CF
so ill wait for the cert and see what happens.
So now its giving me this…
however i cant change the A record on CF because its all done via the CF API Cpanel
isnt the CF ip 126.96.36.199 because that is where it is pointing.
or better yet, this is where it is pointing
www.davesdev.x10host.com.cdn.Cloudflare.net so what is that ip?
I am beginning to think it is not possible to do SSL with x10 free accounts.
I finally gave up and ill just keep it at http, thanks anyway
