Spoofing emails

As I came home, I had over 100 Mail Delivery error emails, all coming from one of my emails. I contacted my host and here is their response:

You will need to contact Cloudflare and update the following email authentication settings:

DKIM:
default._domainkey.creationcassel.com.
TTL: 900
Value: v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=MIIBIjANBgkqhkiG9w0BAQEFAAOCAQ8AMIIBCgKCAQEAr9dRcHrVgucs++taqz5XNi3OzYLPlg3u4RVXNLU83xQIKU+bIFO+MjrIYTGbH22JHdBROoKleGxuU8pAig9QAlxLFIonAE8I1k4ZUYTAv39Sy/1sn6kK/ZgRLAgki7tEmmju4vKbDedDNnS1SxxJ+CMW96myBwAxCsvQM+K0cdn7bEifJH9pu47ANbYunQe/wVtA+nIxzgK1UKpRlYQc0yPf22Cpd2ITipQBVgHNF3HhhKQrZ5PCNmH3RoP3Fin32pJZn1SmAqTD+MAzQu35ktSOdtIUoF7TgH2T62bmj/FaAWZFjLhsw+mjadCGvZWm0xZ9RMS6y9ZQD4hf1BWb3QIDAQAB;

SPF:
creationcassel.com.
TTL: 900
Value: v=spf1 +a +mx +a:ecld188.inmotionhosting.com +a:smtp.servconfig.com +ip4:198.46.81.25 +include:smtp.servconfig.com +ip4:144.208.76.244 -all

These prevent email spoofing. You will also need to update your email password for additional security.

I am just a bit lost as to where to update those data so some guidance would be appreciated.

Hi @cassel,

These should be added in the DNS tab of your Cloudflare dashboard.

I see two sets of commands (one that is under DKIM: and one SPF:. Do put everything in that box like in your video or only the first part and if that, what about the second one?

They go in separately, both as TXT records:

DKIM:

SPF:

No problem  Hope you got it all set up OK!

Again, if i already have those “setting”, should i create a new one or edit the existing one?

You should probably edit the existing one

Is this supposed to take some time to take effect? if so, how much (roughly)?

Just checked and the records seem to be set up fine, may take a short while for propagation, but they are there as your host asked for, now.

Thanks. I do wonder what happened for all those spoof emails to start just today! Weird!

No problem. I used to occasionally get them, I found they would suddenly come in hundreds at one time and then I wouldn’t see any for a while. What you have set up should help with it though :+1:
