Something went wrong... domain transfer

What is the name of the domain?

various

What is the error number?

none provided

What is the error message?

Something went wrong…

What is the issue you’re encountering

unable to transfer domains

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

i have tried to transfer 8 domains from the same registrar. 4 were successful, 4 failed with the message above

I’ve double checked there is no lock, the name servers are the cloudflare name servers, DNSSEC is disabled, and every other thing the help article says to check, and it all seems fine.

I’ve sent an email to support, but only got an automated message pointing to the help article, which I’ve verified I have correct.

I’ve responded to the email, but have not received any response.

Case # is 01540607

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

try to transfer domains, either one at a time or in bulk

I see 3 domains available for transfer in your account on https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/domains/transfer.

All 3 need DNSSEC disabled at your current registrar in order to transfer them.

I do see 8 domains pending transfer. All 8 show DNSSEC as active as well. Are 4 of those 8 the ones that failed? Note that it can take up to a week to for transfers to be complete, so they may actually be in process. Can you share the name of 1 or 2 that failed?

of those 8, 4 were ones that failed. I ended up trying to pay with Paypal instead of the saved credit card, and that allowed me to successfully transfer the 4 that kept failing.

A message that the card was failing would have been SUPER useful, instead of the vague “Something went wrong…” message.

None have DNSSEC enabled at the current registrar. they all had a DS file added, per the cloudflare instructions, but I’ve verified all have DNSSEC turned off.

Anyway, it seems to have been a payment type issue all along. I find this super weird as the 8 were all attempted at one time and 4 worked and 4 failed, all using the card that stopped working for the subsequent attempts.

Oh well, seems all is in progress, so I’ll call that good for now.

Thanks for the reply and help.
