Slow responses to proxied websites when using JIO as ISP

Hello everyone! I have been using Cloudflare Proxy for the past 1-2 years. However, after implementing Cloudflare Proxy on my recent website, it has been experiencing slowdowns. Surprisingly, the website performs much faster without Cloudflare Proxy. What steps should I take to address this issue?

Note : Its just a fresh website and i haven’t applied any Firewall and security and etc on Cloudflare

Here is a demo video link with and without Cloudflare Proxy.

Are you using Reliance Jio?

Yes… I am using

@Avijit

Hi Guys Can you reply to this tweet https://twitter.com/amankhanakia/status/1654686279391649792 and also share it?

It will make JIO listen to us sooner otherwise they won’t care.

Could you post a traceroute and the output to /cdn-cgi/trace of your website?

@matteo

This issue affected all the sites using Cloudflare and if we access the site using the Reliance JIO Fiber network it takes ages to load the first time

Check this tweet please i have posted

I have checked it, but there is nothing to go on. Some steps to identify what is the actual cause might help.

@matteo

You need to be on JIO ISP Network to test the issue. Sites are loading fine on other ISP>
PS: Sites load takes time only the first time and then it loads normally. So i believe it has to do with SSL. Check below screenshot

The steps to reproduce are
Open any browser INCOGNITO window and then open one of the below websites:

Which is why I’m asking for traces and /cdn-cgi/trace outputs from you. I’m not in India.

Here’s the traceroute.

NOTE: website loads fine if Cloudflare Proxy is turned off.

To clarify, this is with proxy enabled? if not please enable it and re-test

Can you also hit /cdn-cgi/trace and send out the output?

Yes, it is with proxy enabled. Without proxy website speed is good.

Yes site loads but it takes more than 1 minute on the first load and then it works fine.

The same happens for all other sites on CF Proxy so every website I load it takes time as i showed on the above screenshot.

Oh yeah, I just noticed, on step 20 it hits Cloudflare only one time out of 3…

Maybe, can you run an mtr for a bit longer, @khanakia?

Here you go the new traceroute for JIO ISP.
PS: Also if need the traceroute from another ISP I can provide that too.

The same is happening with us. If Cloudflare doesn’t fix that, we have to cancel our APO addon for Cloudflare and stop using Cloudflare.

I’ve been facing the same problem from past 1-2 days.

However I have noticed one thing, if you open the websites using safari browser on desktop (tested on my macbook pro) it loads properly everytime. However the loading issue happens with chrome, firefox or other browsers while connected to JioFiber network.

Moreover I have noticed one more thing, the websites mostly loads fine in chrome mobile browser as well.

As per me the issue specifically related to JioFiber network while using chrome, firefox like browsers in DESKTOP devices. Just sharing what I have noticed.

@user31711 If you check in incognito the issue will even happen on safari too. Actually the site takes to load only very first time and then they start working fine if you load.
