According to the Cloudflare status page, the KUL (Kuala Lumpur) co-location is currently partially rerouted. This could potentially explain the slowness you’re experiencing.
I have troubleshooted for several Unifi’s end users and noticed that many are experiencing the same issue due to Unifi routing to overseas servers. We strongly recommend that you report this to Unifi and obtain the report numbers. If no action is taken within the next two days, I suggest submitting the issue to MCMC.
As a reference, MCMC.gov.my also uses Cloudflare proxy. You can try pinging it to verify.
I also facing the problem with Unifi. Ping is >600 , when change to Maxis Data Line , it’s back to normal around 40-70. So I con9lan7firm is Unifi problem. Any way we can make a complaint ?
I try my Unifi to the following,
despite MCMC.gov.my is also using cloudflare dns. but the ping is >20. Same to Malaysiakini.com as well. Any one have the idea for this ?
Yes, we have confirmed that Unifi is experiencing routing issues for certain IP addresses, particularly when your router obtains an IP address located in Kuching or Sibu. If you ping using IPv6, there are no issues, and switching to Digi while pinging with IPv4 also no issues.
Here’s what you can try:
Restart your router and ping again. Repeat this process until you receive a stable IP routing.
Use https://whatismyipaddress.com/ to check your current IP location. If your IP is assigned to Kuching or Sibu, it is likely to cause issues.
Keep restarting until your IP location shows as Kapit, Kota Kinabalu (KK), or Kuala Lumpur (KL), which have shown better routing in recent tests.
Last night, I performed this for a few sites and managed to achieve good ping results. My current stable IP locations are Kapit, KK, and KL.
Please share your IP location for both good and bad routing results, so we can track and compare.
