Site Slow then super fast

I’m new to CloudFare and still using FREE plan.

I’ve notice the following (acc. to Pingdom results):

  1. When ping a page for the 1st time the response time is 6 secs from any Pingdom worldwide servers
  2. 2nd and all consecutive pings of the same page immediately after show amazing speed of 1.7 secs
  3. Gmetrix results steady for all pings, about 4.5 secs which I find slow
  4. The same goes for any page on my Web site

I wonder what’s going on.

Any hint or suggestion is appreciated.
