What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I tried to read tutorials and solve it myself but I’m totally ignorant and I can’t find a solution for this specific issue.

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

  • I have a custom domain “site. com” on Cloudflare that was redirecting to a Notion page (Rules > Redirect rules)
  • I created a free website on Webflow “site. webflow .io” and replaced the Notion page with the new address in Rules > Redirect rules
  • When I type “site. com” on browsers, it does redirect to “site. webflow .io”, but when I type or paste the address to a LinkedIn chat, it redirects to the old Notion page

I’m afraid it may happen in other instances too, since there is still something “connected” to the old Notion page. I don’t know if it’s the DNS Records fields. Do you have any suggestion or guidance? I didn’t find anything helpful in Webflow either.

You haven’t given the domain so no one can check, but if you’ve changed the redirect target from one site to another (and as your DNS is set up only to redirect), and it works in some places, then the redirect itself is likely ok.

Try purging the Cloudflare cache (301 redirects are cached for 2 hours) and the cache on your browser.

I guess there’s no way to send you my site in private here. I’ve already cleared cache several times and tested LinkedIn chat with no success.

Any chance it’s the DNS nameservers that are the same as when it was redirecting to Notion?
