We’ve not done a great job of keeping our DNS records tidy over the years. We think we have several dozen records that we’re no longer using that should be deleted. However, we hate to delete something that it turns out we’re using.
It would be awesome if Cloudflare could:
- Show the number of look ups for all the DNS record entries.
- Be able to disable DNS records rather than deleting them.
For our network firewall, we have a nice procedure for this sort of thing using these types of features. It tracks hit counts on all the firewall rules. We periodically review the hit counts, disable any rules that have a low hit count and then during the next review, we delete any disabled rules.
