Setting up SSL with Dedicated Cert - Error 523: Origin is unreachable

#1

I have an dedicated cert setup for rugbylad.ie, I am able to access the http://rugbylad.ie/ without any issues, but when I try and access the https://rugbylad.ie/ I receive the following error. Error 523: Origin is unreachable

From reading about issues and Error 523, I have included a traceroute if that is any help.

C:\Users\Alan>tracert rugbylad.ie

Tracing route to rugbylad.ie [104.27.189.121]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

Trace complete.

I have contacted the hosting company who have said: It looks like something configuration wise on the Cloudflare side. I edited the host file on my PC here and can confirm the server is allowing https:// connections to the site.

Any help in trying to work out what is causing the issue would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming your server’s IP address ends in 147 it would appear as if you have a proper HTTPS configuration on your server (there still is some apparent mixed content issue, but the site does respond).

It is slightly strange as the error message would indicate it cant reach your server at all and not just not connect to its HTTPS port. Just to be sure, have you checked there is nothing which could prevent Cloudflare from connecting via HTTPS?

I would probably open a support ticket.
