Hello
I would like to enable HSTS, but I am nervous about losing access to my site. Could someone please sanity-check my current configurations for me?
Host IONOS Basic package No SSL certificate
WordPress Latest Version Updated Daily
Cloudflare flexible edge certificate
I am paralysed and my website is purely there to keep my mind active. So I do not have the money to pay the £30 that IONOS want for a certificate
When you visit my site HTTPS is working fine
Siliconhell DOT com
Anything else I need to do before enabling HSTS?
thanks in advance
Mike
PS a big thank you to Cloudflare and the people who administer this forum
All HSTS does is tell browsers that your site will always be available via HTTPS.
Right now, it is, so if you turn on HSTS, it will work. You just can’t in the near future remove HTTPS support. If you keep Cloudflare enabled on your site it will be fine.
If you’re that nervous about it, there’s no reason you need to enable HSTS. It’s not a terribly important setting for a normal site.
