Setting up DNS records for mail application

#1

I use a mail application called Front to manage my emails. I’ve received a notification from them that I need to add SPF/DKIM records to my DNS to reduce the risk of emails being marked as spam.

They have advised me to add the name in the format below to my MX record:

front-mail.mydomain.com

When I add this to the DNS settings in Cloudflare, it automatically removes the ‘mydomain.com’ from the name. I believe then as a result I’m receiving an error that says “An MX record was not found for your root domain. An MX record is required for mail to reach @mydomain.com addresses.”

Any ideas what Im doing incorrectly?
