Setting up Cloudflare Security using www.Namecheap.com

Can anybody help me with a step by step process of how to setup cloudflare as security on my new domain/website?

I already created the domain thru namecheap.com

I think that means you purchased a domain name (and I presume have hosting set up for the site?).

I see you added the site already and it’s in a pending state waiting for a change of nameservers from the current set to the two assigned to your domain by cloudflare on this page, https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/dns.

You should contact your domain registrar (the organization where you purchased the domain) and ask them to change to the two from cloudflare and remove all other nameservers.

Once the nameserver change it detected and confirmed, you’ll see a notice in the dashboard indicating that. And once active, we’ll issue the Universal SSL certificate. That can take up to 24 hours, it usually happens a lot more quickly.

@koltonstevens2 I see you’ve added the website and it’s pending a nameserver update, that in the last step in the following set of directions that I copied from the link shared on this thread. I’ll leave this here for visitors downtheline.

To add it to cloudflare follow the link above, start at this part

1 — Add site in Cloudflare

  1. Log in to the Cloudflare dashboard.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click Add site.
  3. Enter your website’s apex domain (example.com) and then click Add Site.

If Cloudflare is unable to identify your domain as a registered domain, make sure you are using an existing top-level domain (.com, .net, .biz, or others).

Additionally, Cloudflare requires your apex domain to be one level below a valid TLD defined in the Public Suffix List (PSL).

  1. Select your plan level. For more details on features and pricing, refer to our Plans page.
  2. Review your DNS records.

Next, you’d contact you domain registrar and ask them to change the nameservers for your domain to only the two assigned to your domain by cloudflare on this page, https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/dns
