Can you please clarify where you are getting this error?
Are you trying to enable DNSSEC?
Or are you trying to add a record related to DNSSEC?
Please note that if you have enabled DNSSEC, you’ll need to add the DS record at the domain level at your registrar, not in the DNS tab of your Cloudflare Dashboard.
We have enabled DNSSEC in general and are trying to add the DS record to the domain.
This is where we get the error message.

Our main registrar is simply.com, but we point all traffic back to Cloudflare.
That is also the message we get from SImply.com.
So i would guess that it is at Cloudflare this DS record should be set.
I’m sorry to insist, but this configuration is done at the Registrar.

Unfortunately, it seems your Registrar doesn’t support DNSSEC for domains not using their nameservers, which is your case:
Please note following regarding DNSSEC
- It is not possible to activate DNSSEC on domains that uses other name servers than Simply.coms. If this is done, the domain will stop responding…
- If DNSSEC is activated and you change the name servers or transfer the domain away, the domain will stop responding (because the name servers are not the same as what DNSSEC says it should be). Deactivate DNSSEC before you change name servers or transfer the domain.
