My apologies and thank you for reaching out! I was wondering what notifications I can setup to alert me about website error, (but not hosting server downtime)? I recently had a the error, sites using Cloudflare’s ‘Flexible’ SSL stuck in a redirect loop. Update to ‘Full’ SSL was the fix to ensure proper alignment with HTTPS protocol. This notice was on my hosting dashboard, and I only saw it after the fact there was an error. What could I setup on my Cloudflare notifications to alert me to any site errors like this, before my client tells me the site is having trouble, that way I can really be on the lookout for website problems right away? I also don’t want to over do it and get too many emails about the website that may be not complete website failure, only fatal error I think would be great first defense.

I found this Wordpress plugin: Fatal Error Notify – WordPress plugin | WordPress.org that I think might be a solution, but I thought I should first see want options are available for the Cloudflare dashboard. thanks again fro all you help!

If you’re on a paid Cloudflare plan, you should have access to Health Checks which includes notifications and analytics: https://developers.cloudflare.com/health-checks/

There are also many free (and low-cost) 3rd-party monitoring and notification services out there: https://repeat.dev/ and https://uptimerobot.com/ immediately come to mind.

Well, you have to sort of choose your poison here. My checkout page not working may not be a “complete website failure”, but I surely want to be alerted if my checkout page isn’t working.

Just a heads-up that “fatal error” specifically relates to errors encountered by the webserver (nothing to do with whether or not the entire site is down), and the plugin you mentioned – which monitors webserver errors – would never catch the redirect loop problem you had.

thank you very much, I’m currently on the free plan but I will read more about what health checks are available to me, and decide if I need to upgrade my plan.
