A user on one of my sites was having trouble accessing the site, so I pointed them to an article on changing DNS (as I was having an issue with ASUS’ default DNS but not with Google DNS). The user reported that changing the DNS to CloudFlare still didn’t allow them to access the site. If I do an nslookup and specify 188.8.131.52 as the server, I get a message of “** server can’t find : SERVFAIL”. It happens with all the domains on the server (it’s a VPS), so I’m not sure what’s going on.
Did some more digging and found an explanation for the error - it was a problem on my server’s end and nothing to do with CloudFlare. I’ve restarted the appropriate service and the issue is resolved.
