Server not available from cellular network

What is the name of the domain?

ha.inyland.com

What is the error message?

ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

What is the issue you’re encountering

I’ve configured Home Assistant with Cloudflared and a tunnel from my private server to my domain. I had a lot of problems to begin with, but it’s finally up and running - for the most part. The exception is from my mobile phone on cellular network. I’m able to connect just fine when my mobile phone is connected to wifi, but on cellular I keep getting ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED. I suspected that some rules had been set for my domain in Cloudflare, but I can’t find anything. I checked dnschecker.org, and my domain seems to resolve on only some DNSs.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

  • Tweaked config in Settings > WARP, changed from Exclude to Include (this was somehow necessary to get it to work for wifi)
  • Disabled DNSSEC (was status pending)
  • Tested on multiple devices (only fails on my mobile phone with wifi off)

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

DNS not responding/updating

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Turn on wifi and open site on cellular network.

Are you still experiencing such error?
Might be due to the DNS propagation and local ISP cache, if traffic is not restricted or filtered from the ISP itself (some countries have it).

Seems like you’ve got one DNSSEC issue here, which would likely be the cause of it:

Hi! Thanks for the feedback. I’ve enabled DNSSEC now. It didn’t work straight away, but I’ll give it some time and check again soon to see if anything has changed. At least I got a green light on all boxes on dnssec-debugger.verisignlabs.com now.

Thank you for feedback. Yes, it’s good now.

Seems to be working, at least from me end both desktop and mobile data. Could you confirm?

It took a really long time, but yes, it seems to be working completely fine now - for some reason. Thank you for the nudge in the right direction!
