Sendinblue/Gmail/SPF setup issues

I’m using WP Mail SMTP plugin with Sendinblue. While I got the green light on the test email I sent with WP Mail SMTP, I’m no longer able to send/receive from the gmail account where my host email account is routed.

To explain more clearly, I have a personal @gmail account. I also have a business email account through my web host with the domain Prior to setting up Sendinblue, I was using my gmail account to send and receive emails from my business account. Once I set up Sendinblue, that stopped working. The emails ARE still coming through via my web host’s webmail.

I set everything up per the WP Mail SMTP/Sendinblue documentation, except I already had SPFs, so read how to add multiple to one line, which I did. However, I’m getting this error on my Cloudflare DNS home page: The number of lookups on your SPF record exceed the allowed limit of 10. This will result in emails failing SPF authentication.

I’m not sure if the two are related or what the deal is, but I have no idea what to fix. I’m am minimally tech savvy, so appreciate any guidance. Including screenshot of my setup for SPF.

So the issue here is that your SPF record is “recursive”.

That means that the SPF records points to itself (the part). The solution is just to remove that part, so your SPF record would be v=spf1 mx ~all

However, your issue with your Gmail receiving is not related to SPF. SPF is only applicable for sending, not receiving. The SPF will affect sending from the Gmail account so you’ll need to look at the Gmail guide to set up SPF. If you can’t receive on the Gmail side but can on the webmail side then it’s likely an issue with how you’re forwarding email to the Gmail side.

Thank you! I literally just figured out my error about 45 seconds before you responded, so I don’t have the error I was having with the SPF. But I still need to figure out the gmail issue. Thank you.
