Salesforce Experience Cloud and CloudFlare DNS

I’m running into issues with the DNS Setup of Salesforce Experience Cloud with Cloudflare.

I have two CNAMES configured.

example.com example.com.<orgid>.live.siteforce.com
_acme-challenge _acme-challenge.example.com.<orgid>.live.siteforce.com

Salesforce however is not picking up the CNAME and dnschecker.org is not showing as propagated.

Proxying is disabled.

Anyone out there who has gotten Salesforce Experience Cloud configured using a Cloudflare registered domain and DNS services, any pointers welcome?

Thanks.

Forget what I wrote here, it was nonsense.

A CNAME is not valid for the root domain. As such Cloudflare applied CNAME flattening to the root to return an IP address. If salesforce is looking for a CNAME for a root domain it won’t work regardless of who is providing DNS services.
