[Resolved] Configure outlook with cloudflare

Hi,

I have been using Cloudflare for a few days and since my Outlook software can no longer connect to my webmail (Connection failed).

DNS :
A mail points to x.x.x.x Automatic (grey cloud)
MX domain.tld mail handled by mail.domain.tld Automatic

I didn’t change the settings in Outlook.
Port IMAP : 143 without encryption
Port SMTP : 25 without encryption

I don’t know what I need to change to work again outlook so I allow myself to ask the question.

Which hosts do the IMAP and SMTP host show?

Thank you for your interest.

Hosts are personal hosts. I created a mailbox on a dedicated server (with roundube). IMAP and SMTP display the name of my domain: “synd-cgt.fr”. That’s what I called “domain.tld” in my first post.

Thats the issue, your naked domain is proxied through Cloudflare (hence it has Cloudflare IPs) but also used for your email client. That last bit cant work.

You’d need to point Outlook to your actual server. If that is the same as mail you can simply prepend mail. to both hosts and it should work.
