What is the issue you’re encountering

I want to create a subdomain (blog.automation-plan.com) on Bluehost for WordPress while keeping the main domain registered and managed on Cloudflare. Bluehost has asked to update the nameservers to their servers, but I wish to maintain the current Cloudflare setup for the main domain.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

  1. Contacted Bluehost for clarification.
  2. Reached out to Cloudflare support to explore options for setting up the subdomain without changing the nameservers for the main domain.

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

Nameservers

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

1.Attempted to set up a subdomain blog.domein on Bluehost.

2.Bluehost requested updating the nameservers to their servers

3.I want to keep the main domain registered and managed on Cloudflare while creating the subdomain on Bluehost.

4.Contacted Cloudflare for assistance with this setup.

If you want to delegate your domain to other name servers, then the domain must be transferred out of Cloudflare first.

You will need to obtain the relevant DNS record(s) (typically such as AAAA, A or CNAME) from Bluehost.

Only Bluehost will be able to supply you with the relevant DNS record(s), in order to onboard your domain to their platform.

So I will suggest you to ask Bluehost Support, and insist to them, that you wish to keep your current name servers.
