Hello Cloudflare Support team,

I am the verified owner of the domain “soundtify.com”, which I registered and manage through Cosmotown.

Unfortunately, when I try to add this domain to my Cloudflare account, I receive this error:

“The zone name provided is subject to a hold which disallows the creation of this zone.”

I believe this domain was previously added to another Cloudflare account (possibly by mistake or abandoned), but I do not have access to that account.

Please help me remove the zone hold so I can manage this domain in my own Cloudflare account.

The name is currently managed by Cosmotown, who seem to be your domain registrar. Contact them to have the Hold removed.

This would need to be addressed in an account ticket. The community forums aren’t really monitored by Cloudflare staff.

Your registrar, Cosmotown, currently has the domain active in their own Cloudflare account. You need to contact them to remove the zone hold.

I recently purchased the domain soundtify.com via Cosmotown. It is a brand new domain to me, and I am the current legal owner.

When I try to add the domain to my Cloudflare account, I get this error:

“The zone name provided is subject to a hold which disallows the creation of this zone.”

I believe this domain was previously registered and added to another Cloudflare account, and even though the domain has expired and changed ownership, the zone was never removed.

Could someone from the Cloudflare team please manually remove the zone hold so I can manage the domain in my own account?

I have attached proof of ownership from my Cosmotown domain dashboard.

Did you read my previous message? Your registrar, Cosmotown, the company you bought the domain from, uses Cloudflare. THEY have the domain active in their own Cloudflare account, and THEY have issued the zone hold so that you can’t add it to your account.

It has nothing to do with any previous owners.

You are not the first person to have this problem with Cloudflare and Cosmotown.

User contacted Cosmotown, and they removed the zone hold. That’s what you also need to do.
