Our domain is being banned by cloudflare

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

  • Deleted all DNS records from Cloudflare
  • We tried deleting domain as well, but we can’t because it says we don’t have permission
  • Contacted Shopify and they’ve confirmed that domain is banned by Cloudflare
  • Updated and looked at all our DNS records and none of them are showing to Cloudflare
  • All the invoices in the billing section are “paid”
  • Opened a ticket under ID: 01380387

We initially encountered this issue in January and contacted [email protected] twice. Following this, the domain was successfully removed from our Cloudflare account, but we never received a response. Assuming the issue was resolved, we recently attempted to connect the domain to Shopify again. However, we have now received the following message from Shopify’s support team:

“It appears that this domain is currently banned by Cloudflare, which is causing the issues you’re experiencing. Unfortunately, Shopify does not have insight into why the domain is banned.”

We have verified our DNS settings with our domain provider and ensured that Cloudflare Proxy is not enabled on our end. Despite this, the issue persists. Shopify support has advised us to reach out to Cloudflare again to request an unban.

We would appreciate any information regarding why our domain is banned and guidance on how to resolve this issue. As we are migrating from WooCommerce to Shopify, this situation is preventing us from launching our store, and we are incurring unnecessary costs in the meantime.

Shopify has confirmed that our domain is banned.
Shopify says the following: Our investigation into your domain shows that Cloudflare has placed a ban on your domain, which is restricting the provisioning of SSL certificates and explains why we see the SSL pending message in Settings>Domains of your Shopify Admin.
