Request Time Out

Why is my websites is unbearably slow when accessed from Indonesia. It works fine when I am using VPN. It works way faster when not behind cloudflare.

I’m experiencing the same problem in Indonesia.

Now via Telkomsel is the worst.

My website is too slow on Telkomsel network.
So when I pinging, I found out there are lots of request timeout and packet loss.

I heard that ruangguru.com in Indonesia is also using CloudFlare as DNS.
And I can approve it from https://myip.ms/info/whois/104.19.132.111/k/4092169169/website/ruangguru.com

BTW ruangguru.com doesn’t have any packet loss and request time out from pinging.

I already check the performance with some friends in other cities in Indonesia.
The result was same.

My website is too slow only when I use Telkomsel network.

Yes, ruangguru.com is hosted on cloudflare, you can check it on
https://ruangguru.com/cdn-cgi/trace

it’s served from SINGAPORE node as stated on colo=SIN

now why is that ? my websites is served from HKG node. I have tried both my server located on USA, and on Singapore. Both of them served from HKG Cloudflare.

https://s.cbt.my.id/cdn-cgi/trace (USA)
http://cbt.my.id/cdn-cgi/trace (SINGAPORE)

Now again, this won’t happen if I use VPN.

My ISP is telkom INDIHOME.

Have the same problem with my site when using Telkomsel. Apparently other ISP seems normal when loading content from Cloudflare. I’m not sure if Cloudflare to blame.

Heard rumour there is possibility that Telkom/sel it self that throttling any connection from Cloudflare. Still need evidence or statement though.

But the thing is right now loading thumbnail jpg 23 kB took more than 3 second which is absurd. This didn’t happen at least up to February 2020. I notice degradation of speed at early March.
