Re adding domain to remove footprints from Cloudflare
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
I was facing an issue while connecting my domain to Shopify. As per Shopify support’s recommendation, I removed Cloudflare by changing the nameservers to Squarespace and deleting the domain from my Cloudflare account.
However, despite these actions, the DNS records are still showing as hosted by Cloudflare, which is preventing the domain from connecting to Shopify. I tried to re-add the domain to Cloudflare to remove any remaining footprints, but I am encountering an error during the process.
I kindly request your assistance to completely remove my domain and any residual configurations or footprints from Cloudflare. Your prompt support would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, could you please tell us which DNS records? I’ve run some tests, and your domain, along with its nameservers, is no longer on Cloudflare with no residual configurations remaining. The issue you’re experiencing could be due to DNS propagation, which can take some time to fully update worldwide.
I changed the nameservers to Google Domainsfour days ago, but I am still facing the same issue while trying to connect my domain to Shopify.
Shopify support mentioned that the issue might be due to the domain being flagged as a “banned domain”, which usually indicates that the domain has been flagged or restricted by a service provider.
Checking your domain, it seems that you’ve since tried adding the zone to your account.
Therefore, you might need to remove it completely by following our steps below:
In the case that the domain is in the Pending setup state, you’ll need to select a plan for the zone (Free) and you’ll then be able to remove it from Cloudflare.
If you’re still facing issues after removing everything from Cloudflare, you’ll need to contact Shopify regarding this.
