Remote server not resolving to correct IP address

My client has a VPN server which is listed in the DNS as REMOTE with a specific IP address. It was set to Proxied, but it wasn’t resolving to the correct final IP address. I turned Proxied off, but what do I need to do to make it work if it’s proxied? Or is that overkill to proxy a VPN server?

When you proxy a record, it resolves to Cloudflare and then Cloudflare will handle the connection to your origin server. You aren’t going to be able to proxy a VPN with a standard Cloudflare setup, and I wouldn’t worry about proxying the record as it is overkill.
