Regional errors accessing content behind CloudFlare

We have a website monitored in two AWS regions. Monitoring happens with an HTTP ping with Lambda. The results are logged into CloudWatch. The website we monitor is behind Cloudflare.

The two regions are Frankfurt and London. In Frankfurt, everything looks okay, with occasional spikes, but in London, we see periods with a lot of HTTP 408 responses.

I have checked the Cloudflare status panel, but do not see incidents that can explain this behavior. Has any one of you any idea?

408 Request Timeout is a client-side error which is usually returned when client did not send full request within the expected timeframe. For this reason, I would suggest to review the logs on the AWS side to understand why these requests are not issued on time.
