Reduce latency on non-static requests

Hi, I am developing my own multiplayer web-based game. It doesn’t require much bandwidth, but it needs to be very low latency.

How can I set cloudflare up to reverse-proxy traffic to my server without introducing a significant amount of lag?

As a general rule, Cloudflare will add only a bit of latency for typical dynamic requests, although there will be cases where a spike occurs.

Take a look at the Argo Smart Routing product to optimize connectivity within Cloudflare’s network, which is claimed to reduce latency.

You could also consider creating a subdomain that is not proxied for requests you want to bypass Cloudflare.
