Redirects and Wildcards

I have reviewed the redirect page rules but have a specific situation where we want to redirect a set of pages that have a main page and subpages like this:

<>/about → .com/about
<>/about/subpage1 → .com/about/subpage1

I did not want to make a page rule for each redirect. Is there a way to use wildcards with one rule instead of two (or more). I thought maybe I could do something like this but believe the / will be significant:

<>/about/* → .com/about$1

Thanks in advance!

The slash is significant. The rule you have shows would redirect to .com/aboutsubpage1, which is not what you appear to want.

Just let the wildcard catch the trailing /, if any.* --> .com/about$1
