Hi, I am trying to redirect my domain to a new webhost (systeme io) which gave me only two CNAMEs to add into my DNS settings in Cloudflare. I changed them and they have propagated but I still have A record that is pointing towards IP of my previous webhost. What to do with it, can I just delete it? Thanks for help, Nate
Hi,
If you configure a CNAME record that is proxied through Cloudflare - Cloudflare converts the CNAME record to an A Record and we hide the origin of your DNS record behind our IP’s for security reasons.
If you are seeing IP’s being returned, and its. an orange-clouded (proxied) DNS record - then it is likely our Cloudflare IP’s you are seeing.
Hope this helps.
Thanks Damian
