Redirect Rule keeps giving "unknown identifier" error on valid domain name

What is the name of the domain?

private-domain.com

What is the error number?

20083

What is the error message?

https://stats.example-target.com/example’ is not a valid value for target_url because the expression is invalid: Filter parsing error (1:1): https://stats.example-target.com/example ^^^^^ unknown identifier (Code: 20083)

What is the issue you’re encountering

Redirect Rule isn’t being created

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Changing the format of the target URL, removing the protocol, different combinations of options, KB article searches, now this.

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

I can’t provide them, because the forum is preventing “new users from having more than four (4) URLs” and makes me keep re-writing my post. Y’all should really change that…

But create a dynamic redirect from a cloudflare hosted subdomain (status, in our case) as a 302 dynamic redirect to an external domain. In our case, it also includes a URI, which we want anyone that lands on the CF hosted subdomain to be redirected to. I’m curious if this system doesn’t support URIs, because that’s not very clear in how the page is setup/documented.

For those that google and find this, my issue was choosing the “Dynamic” redirect, which makes sense in retrospect. I wanted a “Static” redirect to have all traffic end up at a single location.

It would be nice if CF could use websockets for validation instead of making you re-enter everything each time (that goes for this forum, too - especially this forum). This can be closed.
