What is the issue you’re encountering

redirect rule for subdomain does not work

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I created a rule to redirect portland.swansongsportland.org to Portland — Swan Songs Portland. The target page is valid and available via browser. But when I try to visit the subdomain, my browser cannot find its server. The browser behaves as if the rule is never seen.

Must I do anything other than create the rule?

You don’t have a DNS record for the portland subdomain. Create a proxied record for portland AAAA 100:: as you are just redirecting.

Also add https:// in front of the redirect URL, https://www.swansongportland.org/portland so the redirect is absolute, not relative to the domain.

The AAAA record resolved my problem, and I took your suggestion regarding absolute redirection.

Thank you.
