Redirect page rule not being applied

I have a rule that redirects requests from app.optimalwork-staging.com/* to optimalwork-staging.com/$1 (just removing subdomain), but when I visit app.optimalwork-staging.com, it does not redirect.

The exact same rule redirecting from www.optimalwork-staging.com/* to optimalwork-staging.com/$1 (just removing subdomain) works as expected. The rules and CNAMEs are identical. Any thoughts on what the issue could be?

Redirects for me. Perhaps a DNS caching issue on your end.
