Purging cache for URL with query params

Let’s say I have a URL that can optionally include a query param. The URL can be /foo, or it can be something like /foo?t=123. If I were to purge the URL /foo, does this also purge the cache for any variants of the URL that include a query string? Or do I need to purge every different variation as well (both /foo and /foo?t=123)?
